         Welcome to Higher Centry Bed and Breakfast
   
Situated in the beautiful South Hams, just a mile from the centre of Kingsbridge and the Salcombe estuary, Higher Centry is an ideal centre for visiting the historic towns of Dartmouth and Totnes or for walking on the South West Coastal Path. Just five miles away lies Slapton Ley, and beaches at Blackpool Sands, Mill Bay, Bantham, Bigbury-on-Sea and more, are all within a short drive. Other hidden spots are less accessible but worth the effort.
Dartmoor for walkers and for general interest takes about half an hour to reach and Plymouth for shopping and other visitor attractions, such as the aquarium and the historic sites of the Hoe and the Barbican are about the same distance.

SAILING, WALKING, SURFING, GOLF, HORSE-RIDING, KAYAKING.......

Or just enjoy.

At Higher Centry, we have just the one guest room, which is on the ground floor. The window looks out over the garden and large pond. It has a kingsize bed, and a chairbed if needed.
The room is spacious, and has an ensuite shower with mains power  to blow the dust off, tea and coffee making facilities and a television with DVD player.





There is wireless broadband access, if we can find the code!!
Higher Centry

The house was origionaly built in the mid 18th centuary.

It was built by Dodbrooke church, either as a monks retreat or
an isolation hospital.

The land the house is built on is consecrated and is recorded in the
doomsday book. It once belonged to lady Godiva.

               
 Breakfast is served.

At Higher Centry we run a small mixed farm, raising cattle, sheep, pigs, and hens.

We are pleased to be able to offer our own sausages, bacon and free range eggs.

Sladelands

Just a mile from the house is part of the land that we farm. While you are staying you are very welcome to take a walk through the woodland and pasture that we manage. Take a picnic, a pair of binoculars and a camera!
